Goal reached

I believe we achieved the goal to our task by showing 'Sex'

Sex is natural. Sex is intertwined with nature, it is pleasure, sometimes pain and it creates life, just as a plant would by allowing a seed to fertilize and grow.

These images were taken to show sex. To emphesis the simplicity of the act for a human to create nature itself, as there would be no nature without Man to give it it's name.

First photoshoot

Our first photo shoot went really well. We grabbed a pedestal for our mannequins and placed them in position.

These are some shots from the day

Wood

We sourced out some wooden mannequins and gave them genitalia as these parts will have to be there to show what we are trying to portray.

Sex positions

Because we have chosen to go with wooden mannequins having sex, we did a brief search on some positions. This was difficult as anytime you would key in a search with 'sex' in it, it was a failed result because we are on campus computers. In saying that we are well versed in sexual positions anyway and there wasn't too much research needed.

Own research

This was purely for my own knowledge of what people think about when they think about Nature.

I asked students the first thing that comes to mind when they think about Nature.
These are the results:

Alyse-Trees

Dan-Flowers

Kate-Waterfalls

Lani-Water

Simon-Trees

Chad-Technology

Jess-Trees

Aly-Colour green

Pastel-Colour green

Shane-Plants

Logan-Forest

I expected these results therefore it makes sense to come from a different angle on the subject as our task is to present it in a deranged form.

Idea

Our idea funnily enough came about while out in the sun in nature.
We talked about what is nature..  to me the purist form of nature is Man and the act to create life.
Therefore we came up with the idea to show 'sex' in some form or way. Ideally we would of loved to have some live people performing the act, but of coarse this was not practical. Instead we have a plan to use some wooden manikins to perform the acts for us.

Brainstorm

We started our project by a brainstorm session. As I mentioned earlier it really was difficult to rack our brains around 'bringing a presence of nature with out bringing nature.
We discussed ideas of taking out nature completely therefore creating anti nature, and in turn representing nature because you would notice if it didn't exist, but this just didn't make sense.
We had the notion of wind, that has the presence of nature, but wanted something a little more substantial.
In the end we realised that nature means something different for each individual. To me, it means the natural elements of this earth, water, fire, earth, to someone else it might just mean something that is untouched from any human being, thats natural, thats nature.
